Unicorn is a mythical creature that has been described as an animal with a single large, pointed, spiraling horn projecting from its forehead to ancient times. The Unicorn is depicted in the earliest imprints of the Indus Valley Civilization, and the ancient Greeks attributed the natural history to various authors, including Cetaceus, Strabo, Pliny the Younger, Alien and Cosmas Indicopulstes. The Bible also describes an animal, Reem, whose some versions translate as unicorn. Many impressions of unicorns have been found from the Indus Valley Civilization. Imprints with such a design are considered a symbol of high social status. They are also described as large wild cattle — or derivatives of aroch, which live in Europe, Asia, and North Africa, because the animal is always shown in the profile, indicating another horn may be seen, but it is not seen. In European folklore, the unicorn is often depicted as a white horse or goat, with long horns and cloves. In the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, it was generally described as a very wild wooded creature, a symbol of purity and grace, which can only be captured by a maiden. In the encyclopedia, it is said that its horn has the power to drink poisonous water and cure illness. During the medieval and Renaissance period, Norwalk's ivory was sometimes marketed as a unicorn horn. Unicorn has a place in popular culture. It is often used as a symbol of fantasy or seldom.
