Deepika Padukone was born on 5th January 1986 and is an Indian film actress and producer. She is one of the highest-paid actresses in India and her accolades include three Filmfare Awards. She features in the list of the nation's most popular personalities and Time mentioned her as one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2018. Deepika Padukone is the daughter of the well renowned badminton player Prakash Padukone. She was born in Copenhagen and was raised in Bangalore. She played badminton in national level championships as a teenager but left her career in the sport to become a fashion model. Soon she started receiving offers for film roles and she finally made her acting debut in 2006 as the title character of the Kannada film Aishwarya. Deepika Padukone then played a dual role against Shah Rukh Khan in her first Bollywood debut, the rom-com Om Shanti Om which was released in 2007 and won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Padukone received much praise and applause for her starring role in the romantic film Love Aaj Kal which released in 2009 where she starred against Saif Ali Khan. A sequel of the film is also set to release in 2020.
